My name is Amber.  I run Applesauce Crafts and Toadstool Vintage from my home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  With each etsy shop, I get to do something I love–sew and find amazing vintage kid’s clothes!

I’ve always loved fabrics, but I never knew what to make with them.  Then I started making bibs and dresses for my daughter, and I decided to open an etsy shop.  I’ve found that it gives me a good creative outlet and makes my time as a stay at home mom more exciting and challenging.

I love making things.  I love finding good fabric, figuring out what to do with it, looking at the finished product and knowing someone is going to use it for their wee one.  I focus mainly on things for babies, things that would be great baby shower or new mom gifts:  blankets and quilts, bibs, burp cloths and washcloths.  I also started making cloth wipes, since I’m an avid cloth diaper user.  And I started making reusable decorative felt garlands because they are just so fun to make and look so cute at parties!

Just recently I also opened up Toadstool Vintage to sell all of the vintage kid’s clothes I would find while thrifting and just could not pass up.  It is better than to keep having babies to dress in wee vintage duds, am I right?  I go thrifting at least once a week and I just love to sift through the racks and have those a-ha moments when you find something super amazing!
